My journey into the world of numismatics began at my 40's, with a search for a token my dad had given me when I was seven. I don't know if it was unique as he told me, I tossed, rolled, and eventually lost it, forever.
While forcing my memory to find that token, I found myself collecting and trading in popular marketplaces for several years for a life. And in those several years, although full of positive feedbacks, experienced that large marketplaces are not sustainable for both sellers and buyers with lots of commissions and fees.
So I had to try something bold. Something fair and lasting. Eventually I put my energy to bring that feeling into life. And established iCollect, an independent online store built on an open-source platform where are no commissions, no fees , no unnecessary or untransparent taxes which eventually leads to genuine value and realistic prices.
To further this commitment to genuine value, we can use cost-effective solutions for payments and shipping.
For instance, if you are in Canada, why not just use e-transfer, which has almost no commission? Or if you are in US why not just transfer via ACH ? While you can still use credit card, total commission is still a quarter of the marketplace's fees.
And for the shipments to the US, Canada, or worldwide, Canada-Post small business discount will be besides us.
My aim is simple, starting with a humble inventory, to foster a fair numismatic and antique market for all.
